They say do your best at everything

But only at what they say is best to do

They say to try your hardest at anything

But it only counts when it’s more than those next to you

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder

But success is held under the same eye for all

They say that we’re progressing together

But standards still rise up to the unattainable

They say, they say it doesn’t matter who you are

Everyone has equal opportunities?

But who are they to see society through my eyes,

To live my life, to walk my steps, to see their lies

They are those who wish to change me

To push me into their molds

To tell me that I’m not enough

Well let me tell you this; society, you are not enough
